About This Scholarship
The Women in Construction Scholarship supports women pursuing careers in construction management, civil engineering, and related fields. This scholarship recognizes professional excellence and aims to empower the next generation of women leaders in construction.
Recipients receive not only financial support but also access to a dedicated mentorship network of women professionals in construction. Past recipients have interned at firms like Turner Construction, Skanska, and Clark Construction.
This scholarship is funded in partnership with leading construction firms committed to professional excellence. It covers tuition, books, and professional development expenses including conference attendance and certification exam fees.
Eligibility Requirements
- Identify as a woman pursuing a career in construction or related field
- Enrolled in an accredited construction management, civil engineering, or related program
- Minimum GPA of 2.8
- Active AEC Unites member (student membership is free)
- Demonstrated interest in the construction industry through coursework, internships, or extracurriculars
Application Process
- 1Log in to your AEC Unites account and navigate to the scholarships section
- 2Complete the Women in Construction application form
- 3Write a personal essay on your vision for innovation in construction (400-600 words)
- 4Provide one professional or academic reference
- 5Submit by May 15 — late applications are not accepted
- 6Finalists may be invited for a brief phone interview
