Our Pledge
What We Stand For
As AEC Unites Members, we commit to taking the following actions to support increased access to business resources and opportunities for small and mid-sized firms:
End contracting practices that limit growth for AEC small and mid-sized firms and focus on expanding their opportunities.
Support closing the capacity gap by creating a platform for capacity building, business growth, and talent recruiting for small and mid-sized firms.
Recruit, develop, retain, and advance employees at every level.
Encourage the hiring of small and mid-sized firms as Tier 1 suppliers when appropriate.
Set clear targets to use small and mid-sized firms as project suppliers.
Promote small and mid-sized firm suppliers, regardless of location.

What Our Leaders Say
Often, I'm the only woman and person of color who has a seat at the table in boardrooms where important decisions about our industry are made. I am also the founder and CEO of a mid-sized architecture firm. As an industry leader, I must attract, build, and advance the next generation of AEC talent — building capacity for small and mid-sized businesses through intentional procurement strategies, partnering, mentoring, and training. I'm thrilled that my vision has come to fruition, and with the support of my industry colleagues, AEC Unites will change the AEC industry.

I'm excited to be a charter member of AEC Unites and support its mission. The architectural, engineering, and construction industry needs more intentionality in supporting and providing access to small and mid-sized firms as well as Black firms and talent. Our industry is challenging for all companies but even more formidable for small, mid-sized and Black-owned organizations. AEC Unites will work collaboratively with all industry firms and potential client partners to provide greater access and opportunities to help grow these firms and their talent.
