AEC Unites’ Talent Committee visits Florida A&M University

I am thrilled to share insights from the AEC Unites Talent Committee’s recent visit to FAMU: Florida A&M University. Engaging with the students and faculty from the architecture, engineering, and construction programs was both enlightening and inspiring.

A special thank you to Andrew Chin, Associate Professor and School of Architecture & Engineering Technology Dean, for hosting the meeting and sharing his perspectives on empowering the next generation of AEC talent.

Hearing firsthand from students about their academic and professional aspirations and challenges emphasized the importance of our mission: to provide intentional opportunities for Black Talent. A strategic partnership between AEC Unites and universities like Florida A&M is essential to bridge the gap between academic preparation and industry demands.

Our unwavering commitment is to tailor our support to meet the unique needs of FAMU students and enhance the university’s capabilities to prepare future AEC professionals. This visit has only strengthened our resolve to create meaningful pathways and support systems for students transitioning into the AEC pipeline.

We look forward to fostering this partnership and making a real difference in the lives of these aspiring professionals. Together, we can build a brighter future for the AEC industry.
